At the meeting of Kerala Catholic Bishop’s Council (KCBC) Labor Commission, Health Commission and Catholic Hospital Association, the decision to increase the salary scale of nurses in all Catholic hospitals were discussed and remarked that the salary would be fairly increased for the nurses from the next month.
As reported by the Malayala Manorama newspaper, KCBC quoted that, “The salary of nurses should be fairly increased according to the accelerative expenditure. ” For this cause, KCBC have engaged a group of 11 group members to decide the proper scale of the salary for nurses. The implementation of the salary hike is expected to be effective from the next month onwards (August, 2017).
Mar Alex Vadakumthala , the Bishop of Kannur Diocese, was the chief presiding officer for the meeting that was held.
