Thiruvananthapuram: Director Thomas Benjamin has announced a mega movie with a budget of Rs 100 crore. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan made the official announcement of the movie ‘Jesus and Mother Mary’ at the Muscat Hotel yesterday. Former chief minister Oommen Chandy released the banner release of the film. The movie is produced by Aneesh Rajan, Davis Edakalathur, Shiju Varkey and Jose Peter under the banner of Prime Movie International.
Jesus and Mother Mary will be the world’s first 3D film based on the Bible. Thomas Benjamin said that after seven years of Bible study and discussion, the script was written and directed by Jesus and Mother Mary. The preliminary work of the film has been completed. The film will be shot in Jerusalem, Israel, and Italy. He said that the film will feature actors and technicians from Hollywood.
Thomas Benjamin Venu, who has been in the cinema industry for many years, has worked in many films with Nagavally and Jayaraj. ADGP Tomin J. Thachankari, Joseph Karukayil Corpeiscopa, Fr. Eugene H. Perera, Fr. Yeshiva is also making a 3D movie that incorporates historical events from the Old Testament and New Testament of the Bible. He had visited Popeye’s house to seek blessings for the film directed by Malayali director Anthony Albert.
