The Indian Catholic Community in Philadelphia will celebrate Indian Catholic Heritage Day at St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Church in Northeast Philadelphia on 19th August 2017, in order to remember the significance of the heritage of a true Christian that includes various cultures and rich traditions of the Syro-Malabar, Syro-Malankara, Latin and Knanaya communities.

The event will include a heritage procession, a reception honoring those celebrating special anniversaries and a sister of Indian heritage, a cultural show featuring Indian dances and a light dinner. The event will begin with the Holy Mass for which Auxiliary Bishop Edward M. Deliman of St. Charles Borromeo parish in Bensalem will be the principal celebrant.

The main aim of celebrating Heritage Day is to set a good example and moral before the growing generations to remind them about the old and rich traditions that have been followed by the Catholic Church since ages.
