The Syro Malabar Youth Movement (SMYM) had a colourful inauguration at the Eparchy of Ramanathapuram at the Alvernia auditorium, Coimbatore. The existing youth movement of the Eparchy, Catholic Youth Movement (CYM), has merged with the SMYM at the presence of Rev. Fr. Sebastian Kaippanplackal, secretary, Syro-Malabar Youth Commission. Fr. Bijo Palayil, director of the eparchial youth, lead the process of merging.
To the hundreds of the active youth of the eparchy, Fr. Sebastian clearly mentioned in his presidential speech, the significant of SMYM in this modern era. At the same time, Mr. Sijo Ambatt, the president of ICYM and Global president of SMYM, in his keynote address, stressed the vital power of youngsters in this modern era. Fr.
