In  a  recent  meeting  of  all  the  leading  bishops  of  the  Catholic  Churches  in  Atlanta,   that  took  place  in  South  Carolina,  in  which  the  growth  and  expansion  of  the  Church  was  the  main  subject  of  discussion,  His  Excellency  Wilton  D.  Gregory,  the  Archbishop  of  Atlanta ,  remarked  the  significance  of  the  growth  of  Catholic  Churches  in  the  country  that   reflects  the  number  of  Catholics  moving  from  northern  diocese  to  the  south.

As  reported  by  the  Catholic  news  agency ,  His  Excellency  Wilton  D.  Gregory  quoted  that,  “ We  are  all  in  a  growth  mode.  That’s  a  good  thing.” His  Grace  continued,  “ We  are  spending  part  of  our  time  here  talking  about  the  need  to  establish  new  parishes,  expand  pastoral  outreach  and  respond  to  growing  numbers  both  from  immigration  and  those  moving  here  from  other  parts  of  the  country.  We  all  are  sharing  in  this  growth.”

The  discussion  in  the  meeting  also  included  the  ways  in  which  the  legislation  and  the  political  climate  was  affecting  immigrant  populations.
