Kochi: CMI Sanyasabha expresses concern over arrest of Fr. Stan Swamy, a Jesuit priest who has been serving the tribals and the oppressed in Jharkhand for five decades. CMI, the first indigenous monastic congregation in India, has written to the President requesting the immediate release of Fr. Stan Swamy. The second session of the Thirty-eighth General Assembly, the apex body of the CMI Church, was held from October 5 to 11, and the Jesuit Church expressed its solidarity with the community.

Rev. Fr. Stan Swamy has a life that inspires everyone, the CMI Prior General Rev. Dr. Thomas Chathamparampil said.
