Kalpetta: Police have said that no other action has been taken as FCC member Lucy filed a complaint with the chief minister. This was reported in a letter sent by the district police chief to the banned nun, Lucy Kallapurackal. Lucy had previously lodged a complaint with the police alleging that the nun was locked up in a convent in Karakamala and abused by the clergy. On April 8, 2019, she filed a complaint to the chief minister. The complaint was forwarded to the district police chief by the chief minister’s office for a reply to the inquiry and proceedings of the Lucy case.

As per the directions of the district police chief, the ASP of Mananthavady has submitted a report on the complaint. According to the inquiry report, witnesses said that Lucy participated in the agitation carried out by a group of nuns in Ernakulam without the permission of the FCC authorities. The claim that she was sexually assaulted is baseless. The letter also mentions that the complainant had stated that she had not suffered torture at the convent.
