Changanacherry: Changanacherry Pastoral Council agrees to protest central government’s decision to allow embryos to be up to 24 weeks old. Life is precious. It is a gift from God. The meeting said the move should be countered by concealing the truth. The resolution of the meeting demanded that the central government should actively implement the Supreme Court directive to include Dalit Christians in the Scheduled Castes.
Inauguration of Pastoral Council Meeting held at the Archdiocese of Changanacherry Assistant Bishop Mar Thomas presided over the floor. Mar Joseph Perunthottam pointed out that the members of the pastoral council should be exemplary in the nature of God. Thangachan Ponmangan, Roy Ponmangan, Dr. Dominic Joseph, Dr. Rekha Mathews, and Antony Thomas Malayil spoke.
Josukutty Kuttamperoor and Shijo Jacob presented the motion. As part of its implementation of the Sustainable Development Project, which focuses on the Pastoral Council, 206 council members have distributed cloth bags.
