The students of Delhi University’s (DU)St. Stephens College claimed that controversial quotes were found written on the door of a chapel within the college’s premises. Later on Saturday, they said that the quotes were removed by the authorities. While students claimed that quotes like “Mandir Yahi Banega” were found, no complaint was registered by the college authorities.

As reported by thehindu.com, Nandita Narain, president of Staff Association of St. Stephens College noted that “The timing of the incident is quite worrying considering the college is on its way to autonomy, which we have been opposing. Autonomy would also mean that our college which is a minority institution will no longer be under the protection of DU.”

The National Students’ Union of India and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad condemned the incident.
