Kannur: Post the declaration of Lockdown, a priest has come up with his own ambulance to drop patients to hospitals in Kannur. Rev. Fr. Jomon Chembakassery, the Manager of Puthukad Estate in Chundakkunnu, Chemperi has immersed himself into the service of the helpless residents of the hill station. For the same, he brought in his family-owned ambulance to Chemperi. As cases are tested positive in the hilly area, vehicle owners refuse to help the sick reach the hospital. In lieu of this, the clergy has taken upon him to render this service to the needy in the area.

Many a time, its the priest himself who drives the patients to the hospital. Post the travel, he makes sure to sanitize himself and his vehicle with the spray provided by the Health Department. Rev. Fr. Chembakassery is the Chairman of the Charitable trust of the Y’s Men Club.
