KOCHI: Cardinal Mar George Alencherry has said that it is the responsibility of every church minister to serve the people of God and the world with humility as advocates of the mercy of the Savior Jesus. He was speaking after inaugurating the meeting of the Syro-Malabar Synodal Commission secretaries and office bearers at Mount St. Thomas, Kakkanad on Saturday.
He reminded the conference, like Mahatma Gandhi, who made a selfless effort for the independence of India, to be united in the service of the Holy Spirit, united in the crisis of service. The meeting, chaired by Kuriya Bishop of the church, Sebastian Vaniyapurakkal, saw the participation and discussion of the Syro Malabar Church as a co-ordinating function and facilitation of the smooth functioning of the various commissions.
