Iringalakkuda: Bishop Mar Pali Kannukadan said that despite the Indian constitution and state laws giving minority status, the Christian community in Kerala has been neglected and privileges are confined to paper. He was speaking at the second session of the 15th Pastoral Council of the Diocese of Iringalakuda. He added that the distribution of benefits to minorities is disproportionately disproportionate to the population and will hold strong protest programs and awareness seminars.

The Rev. Dr. Krishnan Nair, professor of St. Joseph’s Seminary, Aluva, Mangalore Dr. Michael Vattappalam took a class on ‘God’s Call of Promotion’. Annie Faith, Secretary, presented the report on the issues discussed in the parishes and forums. Two resolutions were subsequently passed by the Pastoral Council. Resolution against minority discrimination Adv. Hobby J. The weekly motion against the Church Act is being advocated. Polly J. Arikkadu presented at the conference.

The meeting started with morning prayers led by Holy Family nuns. Leoba Sisters of Perambra worshiped.

Vicar-General Mon. Jose Manjali welcomed the gathering. Fr. Jason thanked Karipai for his gratitude. Secretary Telson Cotoli presented the report of the first Pastoral Council meeting. Mon. Lazarus Bushes, Mon. Joy Paliyekkara, Chancellor Rev. Fr. Dr. Nevin Atokar, Vice-Chancellor Rev. Dr. Kiran Tatla, Finance Officer Fr. Varghese Arikkat led the conference.
