Every Year the CBCI Council for Youth organizes a training programme for the newly appointed youth directors, animators and youth leaders for 10 days. This year it is the 26th Chaplains’ Animators’ Training (CAT) program conducted at the National Biblical Catechetical, Liturgical Centre (NBCLC), Bangalore by CBCI Council for Youth from June 1 to 10, 2018. Rev. Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Bellary and the Karnataka Regional Youth Commission’s Chairman inaugurated the 26th CAT programme with the concelebrated the Holy Eucharist. The Director of NBCLC Rev. Fr. Sagaya John and Asst. Director Rev. Fr. Peter also joined the inaugural Mass.

As reported by ICYM FaceBook page, In his homily His Grace Bishop D’Souza called upon the youth ministers to be fruitful and to be committed to the youth of India. Taking the example from the gospel of the day he said: “Christ has called each one of There were 40 participants from all over India including Priest, Nuns and Youth Leaders.” In his keynote address, Rev. Henry D’Souza encouraged the participants to work for the betterment of the youth and their development.

Afternoon at 3:00 pm there was an interactive session conducted by Mr. Roshan Madtha from Mangalore. Through various games and activities helped the group to understand each other better. The session was enriching one. After the supper the participants gathered again Fr. Deepak briefed on the modality of the 10 days programme and the participants were divided into 4 groups. Different responsibilities to the groups were assigned and were asked to name the groups creatively. The groups were provided with chart papers and each group creatively presented the names of their group.
