Ohio: Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio, and the Catholic University of Iraq have joined hands to deliver higher education to students. In a Memorandum of Understanding, the Franciscan University President Fr. Signed by Dave Pivonga and Archbishop Bashar Warda in Irbil, Iraq. The MoU will help students of both universities explore different cultures.

At the event, Fr. Pivonga, Archbishop Bashar Warda said. According to the MoU, students in Iraq will receive a scholarship to complete their studies in Steubenville. Students in Steubenville will also have the opportunity to visit North Kurdistan, which has centuries of history. Archbishop Warda pointed out that after the advent of the Islamic State, a large number of Christians fled Iraq, but the province of Kurdistan has become a safe haven for Christians.

He, along with the church leadership, has already established several temporary residences, and clinics in the area. The University of Irbil, under the leadership of Bishop Varda, has set up a university in Iraq to provide higher education to young people in the most brutal of Christian persecution. There are currently 143 students from different religious groups studying there.
