Kakkanad: Major Archbishop of Syro-Malabar Church, Cardinal Mar George Alencherry, said that Christians are called to witness the gospel and to enlighten the community by embracing the good of our country’s culture. He was delivering a message in the Raza Mass at the dedication of the Syro-Malabar Church Day at Mount St. Thomas, Kakkanad. In his message, all the Syro-Malabar Congregational communities, not only in Kerala but also in other states in India and abroad have been specially mentioned and have been greeted by the Dukranas. Major Archbishop recalled that the zeal and evangelistic spirit of the Marthoma Church strengthened the faith community to witness the Christian life. Rev.Fr. Thomas Fr. Abraham also worked as a co-worker in the prison.

Only the bishop Mar Sebastian Vaniyapurakkal, the clergy, the devoted, the staff, and those who work with the curia attended the Raza Mass. There were no regular celebrations in the wake of the COVID epidemic. Since there are no restrictions on participating in the Qur’an, the Raza Mass has been live-streamed through the Church’s YouTube channel, Facebook and Shekinah Television.
