Bareilly Diocese hosted Hindi Bible Quiz and writing competition on November 19, 2017, gathering some 200 Catholics from 18 Hindi speaking dioceses for the third annual finale of Bible Logos Quiz and Bible Writing. The main aim of the competition was to create awareness about Bible in the faithful and the participants in the competition included ten-year-old children to grandparents who won a series of Bible-based competitions in their respective dioceses on pre-assigned Bible portions according to their age brackets.

As reported by ucanindia.in, Fr. Babu Chirayath, the director of Agra Regional Bible Institute, who initiated the quiz, remarked that “The program envisages to involve some 33 Hindi speaking dioceses, diocese are scattered and most Catholics live remote areas making travel and coordination difficult.” Further, he added, “Nonetheless, efforts are being made to involve more dioceses, we are hopeful to cover all the Hindi speaking dioceses within a few years.”

The annual Bible Logos Quiz started two years ago specially for Catholics Hindi speaking areas of India in 2015, modeled after the popular Logos Bible Quiz in Kerala that annually attracts some 500,000 participants. Fr. Joby Anand from Indore Diocese gave a presentation on the newly inaugurated ‘Atmadarshan YouTube’ channel introducing the various video programs telecast on YouTube as well in some selected religious channels like Prarthana Bhavan.
