Holy Father Pope Francis while addressing the gathering at St. Peter’s Square continued his catechesis on Baptism saying it immerses us in the mystery of Christ’s death and rising to new life. His Holiness Pope Francis reminded that God never disowns his children and highlighted that “Lord Almighty loves us so much – like a Father – and does not leave us alone”.

As reported by Vatican Radio, Holy Father Pope Francis remarked that “The seal of Baptism in never lost even if a person becomes a criminal who kills people, who perpetrate injustice. The seal is not erased, but, sin prevents Baptism from bearing the fruits of salvation. Even when a man, out of his own shame commits serious sins and goes against God, he continues to be a child of God because God never disowns his children.” Further, His Holiness added, “As members of Christ’s body, we are committed to avoid sin and to conform our lives to Him by witnessing our faith and love.”

His Holiness Pope Francis concluded his catechesis by reminding that “Baptism opens the door for us to a life of resurrection, not a worldly life. A life according to Jesus.”
