Vatican City: The State Secretary of America, Mike Pompeo met the Pontiff at the Vatican City to discuss the future of West Asian Christians and the threats raised upon the secularism. The State Department spokesperson, Morgan Ortgus confirmed that Pompeo has reiterated the country’s allegiance with Vatican as strong on value as before. He said that the meeting spoke about how to protect the Christians in west Asian countries against the religious intolerance in the region.

Following the meeting with Pope Francis, Pompeo also met the State Secretary of the Vatican, Cardinal Pietro Parolin. The meeting turned out to be the institutionalization of the thirty five year long bond between America and the Vatican. During the meet, the dignitaries spoke about the Islamic State Militants and their terrorist activities and also about the dying secularist policies of the countries worldwide.

Pompeo also attended a symposium collaboratively organised by the American embassy and the State Secretary of Vatican City.
