Bengaluru: The Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI), the Latin bishop of India, today expressed concern over a central amendment raising the deadline for abortion to 24 weeks. The subject was discussed at the CCBI Thirty-second Plenary Conference held at St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, Bengaluru. Archbishop Cardinal Dr. Dissanayake said human life should be respected and protected from the moment of conception. Oswald Gracias said.

The Church is committed to protecting the sanctity of human life, from conception to natural death, and the bishops have a responsibility to spread the message of Christ on the dignity of all human life. Gracias added. The CCBI conference was held in conjunction with the CBCI Plenary Conference. One day the conference discussed various issues affecting the Latin Catholic Church in India.
