New Delhi: Just a month before the start of the New Year, Christian persecution in India is on the rise. The United Christian Forum has revealed that there have been 17 attacks on Christians between the days of January 19. These attacks have affected sixty-nine Christians. The report is based on information provided by various people on the organization’s helpline number. However, there have been many instances of torture.

Attacks on Christians have been on the increase in Uttar Pradesh, as reported in previous years. At the beginning of the year, Christian ceremonies were banned in ten places. According to a recent World Watch List released by Washington-based leading international charity Open Doors, India ranks 10th among Christians in the world. The report pointed out that the level of torture is likely to rise in the near future.
